What are Electronic Remittances?
What are the benefits of ERA?
-
Earlier notification of claim finalization.
With ERAs, confirmation of paid or denied claims is sent the day after the
claims have finalized, eliminating wait time for the Paper EOB to arrive
in the mail days later.
-
ERA helps improve your business office workflow
and productivity. The ERA is downloaded from this site and can be
posted into your accounts receivable system days before you receive the
payment, allowing you more time to focus on caring for your patients. If the
claims are denied, it would then contain the required explanations.
Which insurance companies can I get ERA for?
-
Medicare DME MAC Jurisdictions A, B, C and D.
-
Medicare Part B of All States.
-
Medicaid of All States
-
Blue Cross/Blue Shield of All States
-
Most Other Commercial Insurance Companies
When are the ERA Available?
What information will ERA give me?
-
Since the ERA you get through this website look
just like the Paper EOBs you receive from Medicare, you'll see a very
familiar format. The check date (or EFT date), the Check (or
EFT) number, the payment amount, and a breakdown of which claims that ERA
is paying/denying.
How do I sign up?
-
After you fill out the enrollment form, and
send it to Cortex EDI, we then forward the enrollment to the insurance
company. Depending on the insurance company, it may take a few days up to
a few weeks to get approved. Once you have been approved, your
account will become Live, and you will be able to begin downloading your
ERA.
How much does ERA cost?
